Here is the racehorse that I was talking about. Later, I will do a horse on my own, my own hand sketching it, and you wil see that I lack skill in doing horses. The painting was fun to do, however.

Hello, back to basics. Watercolors are beautiful, but they're very loosey goosey and all over the place. Not the greatest thing for a control freak like me. Need more practice with these babies.
I'm currently working on a picture of a racehorse. I'm sorry to say, that I can't draw horses very well at all, and the picture I'm working on, I actually transfered from a line drawing in a book.
I've also sketched out my dog Pancho, and my cat Herbie today, based on some photos. They are not good live models, what can I say. I'll have more to post later. All for now.

I'm actually kind of proud of this picture. I need more practice learning how to draw, but I tried to keep it simple, and this one turned out okay.

Oh, hey, this one looks like there's a little improvement in this winter scene. Actually, I think it's almost more fun to take a picture of my pictures when I'm done. The photos look better than what the paintings actually do, in real life.

Here's my cat, Sutherland. I have another cat, Herbie, and two dogs. The Christmas tree has been tipped over two times this year, so far.

Okay, here's one that I'm kind of proud of, because I think it shows some improvement. I sketched this from a brochure that my church sent out. I like this forlorn little shed.

The colors this past autumn were beautiful. Here is another autumn scene around my town. I like the lollipop trees.

I like to use a lot of color and big dabs of paint. I've tried to capture an autumn scene in my neighborhood.

Welcome To My Creativity Corner

28 Dec 08

Welcome to my creativity corner. My friend Chris, who is an artist has been bugging me to start a blog. Actually, she is my inspiration. She is a multi-media artist and does all sorts of art work, but she did a really cool, super huge painting of a French scene for our Harvest Fest table at church. That painting of hers inspired me to try painting myself, and voila! You're looking at my first attempt. Yes, I said my friend Chris was an artist, not me!! I know it looks like a 10 year old did it, but it was a heck of a lot of fun. The thing is, I've done several paintings now, and now I'm hooked. So, here they are being posted on my blog. Believe me, I'm just having fun, and I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I'm hoping that some improvement will happen over time. Thanks Chris for inspiring me!
