Furniture

One of the things I've been having fun with, that is, when I don't feel like painting or drawing, is finding old chairs, or weird little pieces of furniture at rummage sales and painting them . I found these chairs for $1, sanded them, painted them white, and then painted flowers on them. The side table was already really cute, so I brightened it up

Flower Time

I have been working on my art a little, but I admit, I'm not making that much time for it lately. I'm still interested though. I still love flowers, landscapes, haven't figured out how to do people very well yet, although I do have some earlier works of people. Still it's a struggle.

Moon Man

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Here is a portrait of my favorite beer. It's been the source of much inspiration, and many a headache. Goes down smooth and quick and refreshing. Much to my dismay, it's been out at various times that I've gone to purchase it. Seems people from out of town (From Costa Rica to New York) like it too.

Positve and Negative images

I haven't been practicing my drawing or my painting very much lately, and consequently, nothing that I do is very good. So, I went back to basics here just to practice my drawing. I need to do more of this.

Egyptian

We went to see the mummy exhibit at the museum. I bought an Egyptian coloring book and got the idea to paint an Egyptian.

Wisconsin Barn

I got a postcard while on vacation, of an old barn with all sorts of signs on it. They were all signs for gasoline companies, but I took some creative license.

Palm Trees

Happy New Year!! As a committment to letting go of my percieved control over things, I did two palm trees in water colors. Loosey Goosey, they offer much less control than I normally like. It was fun. Then I also did a very small one in acrylic. I like the bright colors achieved with acrylics. As usual, I don't know what I'm doing and I'm flying by the seat of my pants. I'm sure there's a way to achieve brightness with watercolors as well.
Anyway, it's January, it's cold, and I'm thinking of warmer climes.
