What I like about this verse is that it says while he was still a long way off, like, still mired in his sin, bad behavoir, bad living, bad choices, but he had an inkling to turn back to God, the Father was there, filled with compassion for him, and went running to him. I've been a prodigal this week. Ignoring my Father, thinking I can handle everything on my own, and make my own choices in how I act and behave. Still, He puts up with me, and welcomes me back, when I decide I want to get back up out of the pit. Why do we always want to run away?
