Here's my third canvass. At first I didn't like it, but now it's starting to grow on me. I sketched out the flower, and I tried to emulate the colors in my art book. I tried to mix them just like it said, and then I realized, I need to quit reading the book and trust my instincts. I think I have okay instincts about color anyway. Still trying to capture shawdows and and light and all that. It's not as easy as it seems. I think this is okay for a beginner. :)

Voila! I drew a cat today! Look out! High art, I know. Not! Great fun though. I got some new pastels. They're skinnier than the ones I had, and I have more colors. Wanted to have a little bit of fun today!

Still Life with Apple, Bee Happy, and J'aime Paris. I'm stuck in my immature, I just want to color mode. Thoughts are turning to spring, and I want color. When will the earth wake up though? If I were to do a landscape picture right now, it would have to be washed in tan and brown. Nothing is green yet, and there are no leaves on the trees. The earth is still sleeping, but it's starting to toss and turn. Soon it will wake up, and I will be dazzled by the colors. In the meantime, I'll put them in my artworks.

This took me a long time. I need to start breaking my painting down in stages. Paint the house first, let it dry. Then put in all the items in that are in front of it, the grass, the multitude of flowers, trees, bushes, etc. Anyhow, I like the bright colors, and I can't wait until spring/summer actually gets here, and we have warm flowers like this. The ground is brown now, just laying there, but I know it's getting ready to burst.

This should be horizontal, but I'm not sure how to change it now. I'm having a bone dry day on ideas. My next one will be a painting with bright colors hopefully. I'm busy wallowing around in colored pencils, too lazy to do anything more difficult. I mean I guess this is okay for a flower, but a little boring. I think I can do better.

I tried to make this one look like night. Not sure if I succeeded, but it was fun. I think I look like I have more skill if I paint, or at least paintings photograph better, because the colors are bolder.

I wanted to do something in colored pencil, I need to feel in control right now I guess. I didn't press hard and make the colors bold and shiny, which I love to do. The paper is soft, and it lent itself to just doing the colors softly. Okay, next time, I'm going to press hard and make shiny, bold colors! Get out some stress!
